Your First Visit
Your first experience with us is all about your child’s comfort, happiness, and, of course, their beautiful teeth! We promise to provide the best care and work with you to develop a highly personalised treatment plan. Our goal is to prevent future dental problems and avoid any unnecessary, costly procedures.
For this reason, we recommend booking earlier appointments for babies and toddlers when they are fresher, well-rested, and more likely to cooperate in the dental chair.
Helping Anxious Patients
We understand that visiting the dentist can be stressful for both children and parents. That’s why we approach each visit with empathy and positivity to ease any anxiety or tension. Additionally, we cater to children with or without special needs, ensuring the highest standard of care for everyone.
Do I need a referral?
You do NOT need a referral to visit us. However, if you have been referred, please email us any of the following documents:
- Your referral letter
- Dental records from your child’s previous dentist or medical professional
- Recent radiographs (x-rays) from your previous dentist
What to Expect During Your First Visit
During your first visit, we focus on making sure your child feels safe and comfortable. Here’s what we typically do:
- Listen to and address any concerns you have or those mentioned by a referring dental or medical professional.
- Review your child’s social, dental, and medical history.
- Conduct a comprehensive oral exam of the teeth, jaws, bite (occlusion), and soft tissues (including gums).
- Take any necessary photographs or radiographs (x-rays) to assess the condition of the teeth, jaws, and areas below the gum line.
The goal of this initial assessment is to confirm a diagnosis and create a tailored treatment plan for your child. At the end of the appointment, we will discuss our findings with you and schedule any necessary follow-up appointments to ensure your child maintains great oral health.

We appreciate the effort it takes for busy parents to book appointments, so we aim to make the first visit as smooth as possible. After scheduling an appointment, you will receive a link to our New Patient Form. Please complete this form before your visit; it helps us understand your child’s background better and provide the best care possible.
Financial Information
Payment for dental services is due on the day of your visit. We offer several convenient payment options:
- We have HICAPS facilities to claim eligible benefits from your Private Health Insurance with Extras cover or the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS). Please bring your Private Health Insurance card or Medicare card to the appointment so we can process your rebate on the day.
- As we are NOT a bulk-billing practice, any gap payments can be made using Visa, Mastercard, EFTPOS, or Cash.
